Between Frequencies is a multidisciplinary installation by DAWAN (Hamza Nasraoui), selected through the Kamel Lazaar Foundation 2022 open call and presented at B7L9 Art Centre. The work examines information saturation: by pulling familiar elements out of context, it exposes how information is manufactured. Drawing on radio and social media sound, it questions authenticity in digital spaces and the hold corporations have over our actions and affects. Its triangular structure combines sound installation, performance and electronic music. EFFET MÈRE authors the visual layer, as a holographic mapping on tulle staged in a blackout room. The mapping follows the geometry of the veil rather than sitting on it: the image floats with no visible support, which is exactly right for a work about information with no traceable origin. The material is twofold. On one side, Tunisian television archives, a collective memory already mediated. On the other, data-driven particle systems that do not illustrate the flow, they are the flow. The gesture meets the central hypothesis of the practice: the real is not represented, it is generated. The archive is not replayed as a document, it is treated as raw material for a system that recomposes it in front of the viewer.
