VJing / Live A/V

Live audiovisual performance where image, sound and light stay reactive to one another.

VJing behind a DJ is a solved problem and a low ambition. What we build is an architecture where sound, image and light are three simultaneous layers that answer each other, operated live. For Vigilance Zero at Calypso, the visual language of the band's debut album was carried into the room on an LED wall, then back out into the video productions of their sets, so a clip posted online stays recognisable without a logo. For A.L.A, the room itself became the instrument: 301 square metres of LED across walls and ceiling, with the live DJ and VJ booth inside the enclosure rather than behind it. Someone has to be steering on the night. A generative system is only worth its cost if a person is watching the room and adjusting, which is the difference between a system that responds and a system that merely runs.

  • ▸A visual language that survives from stage to screen
  • ▸Live operation, not playback
  • ▸Setups scaled from a club booth to a 300 sqm LED enclosure
  • ▸Content reusable across an artist's album, tour and social cuts
